2009 brought many new things for the Fuquay-Varina Twins.
The Twins played it's first C.P.L. game, the 8th ranked team in the nation, losing to the Outer Banks Daredevils 5-2, with 4 unearned runs given to them. The Twins batters hit more home runs than any team since going to wood bats in 1999. The Twins played 42 games traveling over 3,800 miles and for the first time in 20 years played below 500. The Twins' offense was better than past years, but at times the defense looked like the bad new bears. Pitching was outstanding once more with Richard Wall, Jake Milinichik, Payton Martin, and Ben Goldsten leading the way. With the new Harnett Central High School field and several new teams in the league this was a very challenging season.
